Katrina Didot
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1995 and have worked in school settings, hospitals, jails, businesses, and in homes. My husband and I met while we were both living in Haiti. After marriage we lived and did community development work in Guatemala for 8 years and have continued to visit Guatemala as often as we can since.
For almost 20 years I also owned a restaurant/food service business where I, together with my employees, enjoyed building a culture that continues to provide love and care (and amazing food) in our community. The business unmistakably bore the marks of social work sensibility.
I currently have the joy of bringing together a diverse background, having lived a life informed by these varied experiences:
Growing up in a boarding home with chronically mentally ill and elderly boarders
Working in varied international settings and within ethnic populations in the U.S.
Serving as a community mental health social worker
Being an adoptive mom
Running a fast paced restaurant business for almost 20 years
It is not a surprise that I work in the world in many different ways. I enjoy new situations that require some innovation, spontaneity flexibility, and creativity. Here are some things I like doing most:
Counseling couples through challenges in their marriages
Using the Working Genius tool to help small businesses build culture and teamwork
Taking couples to Guatemala for a “marriage refresher” retreat.
Building community through feeding others yummy food
Exploring new experiences
